This Oriental Spruce flushes pale yellow new growth two weeks earlier than the older known variety Aureospicata. The spring color lasts for several weeks. Once the new growth hardens off, the color fades to dark green with a frosting of gold on the needles. The shape is also an improvement to the older variety being slightly more compact.
